Northland experiences another grim, record-breaking week of COVID-19 deaths

For the second week in a row the Northland logged a record number of deaths from COVID-19.

Thirty-six people in the 10-county region were reported to have died between Nov. 20-26, according to the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Of those deaths, 22 were recorded in St. Louis County, nine in Aitkin County, five each in Lake and Carlton counties, three each in Itasca and Bayfield counties and two in Ashland County.

Additionally, five counties broke their weekly record of new cases and Cook County tied its previous weekly record of 13 cases.
